Community Involvement

Northwestern Mutual as a national enterprise and as a local office has committed to helping make progress in the cure and treatment of childhood cancer. The flagship organization we support is Alex's Lemonade Stand.

In Indiana, we formally started raising money for ALSF through a golf outing in 2008. I have served on the committee, in some capacity, either as a member or the Chairperson every year since. Through the efforts of our committee we have raised over $500,000 over the past 7 years and it has been extremely humbling to be a part of this event.

In further support of pediatric cancer research, I have worked with the NM Foundation to provide grants and donations to our local hospitals as a way of giving back to our local community. Here is a list of dollars awarded through the coordination of grant proposals:

•Riley Children's Hospital - $100,000 (August 2015)◦Awarded by Northwestern Mutual Foundation

•Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital - $40,000 (March 2015)◦Awarded by Northwestern Mutual Foundation

•Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital - $1,000 (March 2015)◦Awarded by Million Dollar Roundtable Foundation

I was also part of the committee that won the NM Foundation's Community Service Award which provided $50,000 to go to a local hospital.

Donations Donations

We chose Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital and our donation allowed us to dedicate a room in the hospital. Our design idea was the building block room and its decorated with building blocks to help take the kid's minds off of treatment.

Additionally, the Starlight foundation donated three iPad tablets specifically designed to help pediatric cancer patients keep up with their schoolwork while receiving cancer treatment.

As a father of two children myself, I am very empathetic to families who have kids battling cancer. Children are our future and if one child's life can be saved by the money we are raising, then it will all be worth it.

Here is a list of other philanthropic organizations I have been a part of in the past.
